Dr. Imran Mahmood

Founding Director, Assistant Professor

Currently working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology, (Pakistan); Worked as Assistant Professor at the College of Computer Science, University of Dammam; Worked as Assistant Professor at University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore; supervised ongoing research projects as Lead researcher at the Center for Simulation and Visual Analytics Research; Earned Doctoral degree in Computer Systems at School of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), KTH-Royal Institute of Technology Sweden in 2013; Earned Master degree in Software Engineering of Distributed Systems at School of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), KTH-Royal Institute of Technology Sweden in 2007; Involved in research activities in Applied Modeling & Simulation and Operations Research; analysis, formal verification of complex systems with several years of experience. Worked in collaboration with Swedish Defense research agency (FOI) during the Masters and Doctoral research; Published quality research papers and delivered different workshops, lectures and invited talks; has served in IT industry earlier at various leading roles, at different private and governmental organizations.

Dr Fahad Javed

Co-Director, Assistant Professor

Dr. Fahad Javed is Harvard South Asia Institute’s Aman Fellow; Currently working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology, (Pakistan); Principal Investigator, “On building socio-economic what-if simulator for renewable energy technologies in Pakistan”, Pakistan Strategy Support Program by International Food Policy Research Institute; Worked as Assistant Professor at the GIFT University, Pakistan; Worked as Research team lead in Self-managing Energy Systems in Buildings project at LUMS, Pakistan. Co-supervised ongoing research projects at the Center for Simulation and Visual Analytics Research; Earned Doctoral degree in Computer Systems at SBA School of Science and Engineering LUMS, Pakistan in 2014; Earned Master degree in Computer Systems at SBA School of Science and Engineering LUMS, Pakistan in 2010; Involved in research activities in demand side management and forecasting, modeling and simulation of household energy load for smart grids; Published quality research papers and delivered different workshops, lectures and invited talks; has been involved in various start-ups in IoT and energy sector.

Dr Sidra Sultana

Assistant Professor

Dr. Sidra Sultana is a graduate of FJWU with a silver medal. She did her MS and PhD from NUST. With 4/4 cgpa. She is a technical reviewer of multiple impact factor journals and international conferences since 2014. She has served software industry as a software developer, team lead, and then software architect for 5+ years in local and international software houses. She has served Abasyn University Islamabad Campus as an HoD Computing for 3.5 years.

 

Her area of research is expanded to Information Security, Aspect Oriented Programming, and Software Modeling and Verification in Real Time Systems.

Dr Rabia Irfan

Assistant Professor

Engr. Dr. Rabia Irfan has completed her PhD in Information Technology from NUST, Islamabad in 2018 and her specialization is in the area of Data Science and Machine Learning. She was been awarded presidential gold medal in her Masters in Information Technology from NUST, Islamabad. Her bachelor is in Computer and Information Systems Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. With the foundation of engineering domain and the applied side of Information Technology, her research interest particularly lies in incorporating analytics and decision making capabilities in the solution of real-world problems in the domain of health, energy, power etc. She is currently working on the extension of her PhD thesis and developing an Evolutionary Scholar Taxonomy (EST). She is also working on the development of a Feasibility Development and Management System (FDMS) for pacing up the development of medium to large scale medical facilities in rural and sub-urban areas of Pakistan.

So far she has published 4 journal and 4 conference papers. Being an active researcher, she believes that the identification of solution to real-world problems involves the incorporation of techniques from interdisciplinary domains and she is always open to exploring new areas. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor in SEECS, NUST.

Romana Ali

Research Associate

​currently pursuing her Master in Computer Science at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan. Earned Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering from Punjab University College of Information Technology (Old Campus), Lahore. Her research interests includes modeling and simulation, water management, and data sciences. As a Research Associate at CRIMSON lab, she is currently working on a funded project topic: "Simulation Modeling and Analysis of Household Water Consumption in Pakistan using Hybrid approach"

Momna Saeed

Research Associate

currently pursuing her Master in Information Technology at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology, (Pakistan);  Earned her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan. As a Research Associate at CRIMSON lab, she is currently working on a funded project topic: "Simulation Modeling and Analysis of Household Water Consumption in Pakistan using Hybrid approach" 

Her MS Thesis topic is: "Modeling & Simulation of Flood Evacuation and Disaster Management Using System Dynamics".

Shagufta Jawaid

Research Associate

currently pursuing her Master in Electrical Engineering (RF and Microwave) at Research Institute For Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Studies (RIMMS), National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad;  Earned her Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Bahria University, Karachi Campus (BUKC); As a Research Associate at CRIMSON lab, she is currently working on a funded project topic: "Simulation Modeling and Analysis of Household Water Consumption in Pakistan using Hybrid approach."

Ali Waqas

Research Assistant

Is currently doing MS (IT) student at the Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology, (Pakistan); serving in Pakistan Navy as Core Network Administrator. served as system administrator – Satellite communication systems, designed and implemented PN C4i integrated Network.   Completed his Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering in 2005 from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology. Currently he is serving as Research Associate at CRIMSON. His research interest is Modeling &Simulation and

Arfa Saleem

Research Assistant

currently pursuing her Master in Information Technology at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan); Working as Radio Network Optimizer for Ericsson (Jazz); Earned Bachelors Degree in Electrical Telecommunication Engineering from COMSATS, Islamabad. Her research areas include modelling and simulation, water management, and data sciences.

Faaiza Bibi

Research Assistant

is currently pursuing her Master in Information Technology at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology, (Pakistan); worked as an intern software developer in SEECS Islamabad for two months; Earned Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. Her research interest is studying Synaptic Plasticity in Hippocampal region of brain.

Talha Nadeem

Research Assistant

is currently pursuing his Master in Information Technology at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan); Worked as MEP Sit Engineer at CMH, Rawalpindi; Earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2017 from Air University,Islamabad (Pakistan).  His current research interests are Evacuation Strategy Optimization with the help of simulation.

His MS Thesis topic is: "Agent-Based Crowd Simulation, Analysis and Optimization of Campus Emergency Evacuation"

Sulman Shaukat

Research Assistant

currently pursuing his Master in Information Technology at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan); Worked as Unity Developer at Pocket Club,  Web developer at AMPM; Earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science PMAS Arid  Agriculture University, Rawalpindi.  His current research interest is energy consumption and forecasting at Household level.

Abeer Ahmad

Research Assistant

Currently pursuing his Master in Information Security at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan). working as Cyber Security Analyst at VaporVM;  Worked as SOC Analyst at Khushali Microfinance Bank Limited; Earned Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication Systems from Bahauddin Zakariya University,Multan. His current research interests are Modeling and simulation of cyber attacks using Agent-based approach to evaluate the security resilience of IT-Infrastructure.

Mishal Jahan

Research Assistant

is currently pursuing her Master in Information Technology at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology, (Pakistan); Worked as an intern in Ufone GSM for one month; Earned Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from International Islamic University, Islamabad. Her current research interests are Simulation, Modelling and Forecasting of Dengue Spread using Agent-based Modeling. Mahy Mobeen

Research Assistant

currently pursuing her Master in Electrical Engineering at Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan). worked as an intern in PEPSI Quetta for two month; Earned Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), WAH Campus. Her current research interests are Simulation Modeling and Forecasting of Electrical Generation of Wind Power Plant in Pakistan using agent based modeling. Her MS Thesis topic is: "Modeling, Simulation and Forecasting of Wind Power Plant in Pakistan using Agent Based Approach".

Muhammad Yousuf

Research Assistant

currently pursuing his  Master in Information Security at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan); working as an  Information Security Engineer in Qatar; Earned Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication Systems from Bahauddin Zakariya University,Multan. His current research interest is Slicing based Privacy-aware Access control model for Electronic Health Records in Hybrid Cloud".

His Thesis title : "A Slicing based Privacy-aware Access control model for Electronic Health Records in Hybrid Cloud".

Qazi Usman Najeeb

Research Assistant

Currently pursuing his Master in Information Security at Department of Computing, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan). Working as Package Solution Consultant at IBM, Islamabad. Earned Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from FAST - National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Karachi . His research interests include Machine Learning,  Tarbela's Power Plant Generation.
